    Classic Ford Classifieds

Ford was the first American car company in the classic car era, and it continues to be a reputable name in the automobile industry today. If you are looking to browse old Ford cars for sale, we have new Ford ads listed all the time. Classic Fords for sale have time and again proven to be a worthwhile investment. Learn here about the different types of classic Ford cars, such as the Lincoln Speedster.

Before we get into Ford history, however, it us briefly go over how to search our database here at Want Ad Digest in our Ford classifieds. First of all, know that different sellers will list the same vehicle under a different name, or a different term. For instance, try searching for "Old Ford cars models," "Ford cars old" or "antique Ford cars for sale." You can also narrow the search down by year, such as "1934 Ford truck for sale." Speaking of trucks, if you are looking for a classic Ford truck for sale and you do not find it here in our classic Ford ads, then try looking in our Trucks and Vans category. Likewise, if you are looking for classic Ford parts for sale, or, as it may be listed, Ford auto parts for sale, and you do not find it here, try looking in our Auto Parts category.

Moving on, Henry Ford was known for changing the automobile world drastically, by being the first to use an assembly line system to produce affordable cars. The Model T Ford for sale, which we will explore further momentarily, was the first car ever to be mass produced by an assembly line.

Henry Ford, driving his own car, beat Alexander Winton in a race in 1901; this win is what attracted investors to help form the Henry Ford Company. In 1902, Ford ended up withdrawing from the deal, and the company became Cadillac. In 1903, the Ford Motor Company was officially founded by the Malcomson Group.

In 1908, the company introduced their first cars ever, the aforementioned Model T classic Fords. These older Ford cars are typically referred to as the very first fairly inexpensive cars suitable for average Americans. During their first year of production, the Model T classic Ford cars brought the company record sales of over 10,000 vehicles in that one year.

Prior to 1913, the Model T classic Fords for sale were available in green, red, blue, and gray, at different times. But, after 1913, Henry Ford insisted that all Model T classic Ford cars be produced only black; he did this partially to reduce costs, but also, the black paint supposedly dried faster than the other colors, thus speeding up production. Interestingly, over 30 different kinds of black paint were used to color the different parts of the Model T classic Ford. In 1926, colors other than black were once again made available.

The Model T Ford Touring Car came out in the same year as the classic Ford Model T, 1908. Between 1908 and 1920 the company introduced several new models of classic Ford cars, including the Model T pickup, the Speedster, the Business Coupe, the Woody station wagon, and the Roadster.

During the 1920s, the Huckster, the Pie Wagon, and the flatbed truck emerged. Hucksters were not exclusively classic Ford models, but rather, the word "huckster" referred to a particular style of a vehicle. This style often included a wood enclosure at the back of the vehicle that could be used to store goods for sale. Although a huckster could be built on any kind of car or truck, classic Ford cars for sale were so popular and prevalent at the time that converting them into Huckster vehicles seemed the natural route to go. The Model T classic Ford as well as the Model A were able to be modified into Huckster classic Fords.

In the 1930s, the company began introducing convertibles to their line. Additionally, several new classic Ford cars for sale came out: the Victoria, the Pheaton, and the Tudor, to name a few. In 1932, the classic Ford V-8 and the English Ford Model Y were introduced. The Ford V-8 brought the V-8 power to the public, and is considered one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars ever built.

In 1934, the Model 40 Lincoln Speedster was released. This old Ford for sale was a very smooth, sleek, and sophisticated looking automobile. In 1935, the Lincoln Zyphyr models, the first mid-priced classic Ford cars for sale, came out. By 1937, Ford became the first manufacturer to create and assemble their own station wagon.

In 1941, the Woody station wagon classic Ford got revamped into a more luxurious vehicle - these classic Ford cars for sale were the first factory built Fords to break the $1,000 price barrier. In 1954, one of the company's most beloved cars, the Thunderbird, came out. Although the classic car era technically refers to cars produced during 1925 and 1948, the Thunderbird classic Ford of 1954 is considered to be a "true classic car."

In 1964, another famous classic Ford car was put forth: the classic Ford Mustang for sale. The old Ford Mustang for sale has such an expansive history we cannot cover it here, but, the bottom of this article, we have included a link to Edmund's history of the old Ford Mustang for sale. As Edmunds says about this old Ford for sale, "Any car that stays in production through 15 model years has to be counted as a success."

Indeed, Ford has a long history and we have only touched upon some of the different classic Ford cars for sale that you may find in Ford ads here at Want Ad Digest. When you look at a Ford ad, be aware that different sellers have varying interpretations of what defines a car as a "classic." Consequently, if you are looking for a Mustang Ford ad, although these models are not technically classic cars, they could easily fall into the Classic Ford Cars for Sale category.

Indeed, regardless of what you consider a classic car to be, if you know you are looking for old Ford cars for sale, you can find new Ford ads listed here at Want Ad Digest all the time. Furthermore, if you already own a classic Ford and are looking for classic Ford car parts for sale, you can search for that within our database as well.
