    Pontiac Cars for Sale

If you are in the market for a new or used car, do not be afraid to start your search online here at Want Ad Digest. Here, we go over how to search for used cars in our database and we will touch upon different models of Pontiac cars you may find for sale here: the Grand Am and the Firebird, to name a couple.

Indeed, we have plethora of car classifieds with new ads being listed all the time. You can narrow down your search to the type of car you are looking for - for instance, used Pontiac cars for sale. Perhaps you are also interested in looking at cars at a dealership in addition to those being sold by individuals. In that case, you can pop over to our Dealer Network section, where you can find cars available from DePaula Chevy and other reputable local dealerships. Just simply type their name into the search box, such as "Remote Car Starter Albany NY." Whether you are looking for new or used, classic or modern, Pontiac or Buick, you can find what you are looking for here, for less, at Want Ad Digest.

When it comes to Pontiac cars for sale, one of the first models that comes to mind is the Grand Am. Known for its excellent handling and sporty design, the Grand Am is a mid-size car that hit the scene in 1973 and was later reclassified as a compact car. The Grand Am took a hiatus during 1980 to 1985, but then was manufactured right up until 2006, when it was replaced with the Pontiac G6.

In 1992, the Grand Am underwent a complete redesign to make it appear more contemporary. As of 1995, the Grand Am SE became available, and then the Grand AM GT in 1999. There are not too many differences between the SE and the AM GT. They both have front wheel drive, however, the GT has a 3.4 liter V6 engine with 175 horsepower, while the SE's engine depends on the year; more recent Grand Am GTs have a 3.4 liter V6 engine with 170 horsepower. Another minor difference between the two models is the SE has black side mirrors while the GT's side mirrors reflect the color of the car itself.

In 1996 the Grand Am was revamped again to incorporate a rounder, sleeker look. The 2004 Grand Am appears to be lower to the ground, the tailgates are updated to enhance visibility, and this model has a cleaner, cultured look that could be more appealing to younger drivers.

The next model of Pontiac cars for sale that we are going to explore is the Firebird and the Trans Am. Although the two terms have been used interchangeably, technically the difference between the two is that a Trans Am is a type of Firebird - it is a 'beefed up' Firebird, some might say. The Trans Am has better handling, suspension, and horsepower than other Firebirds, and also has a few more extras, such as a spoiler.

The Firebird came out in 1967 and is still being made today. The first Firebird was used with the fundamental structure of the Camaro in mind. Firebirds came available with five different engines, all of which were either V6s or V8s; most people chose to go with the V8 option.

In 1968 dropped side vent windows were added to the Firebird as well as fender marker lights. The blinkers were made larger and were stretched to wrap around the front edges of the car. In 1969 the Firebird underwent a restyling with wider fenders. Also in 1969, the Firebird Trans Am was introduced, with its excellent handling and stylish appearance.

The second generation Firebird came on the scene in 1970 with round fenders, a plastic nose that surrounded the split grille, and it took on a "bumperless" appearance. In 1971, Pontiac offered for their Trans Am and Formula Firebird models their largest version of V8 engines with 335 horsepower.

The Firebird continued to make countless more advancements over the years, only some of which we will touch upon here: In 1973, the Trans Am was modified to include a large "screaming chicken" hood graphic, as well as a 455 Super Duty engine which was similar to a race car engine. The Firebird was more or less standing alone in the pony car division in 1975, with the following all being discontinued: the Plymouth Barracudo, the Dodge Challenger, and the Camero.

In 1977 a "Batmobile" type front end appeared on the Firebird, along with more engine choices. The year 1979 saw four rectangular shaped headlights and a split grille below them. In 1980, Pontiac attempted to focus on the fuel concern going on at the time and opted for turbocharging the Trans Am and the Firebird Formula, resulting in the Turbo 4.9 engine at 210 horsepower. The rest of the 1980s saw another revamping of the Firebird to improve both looks and power, and later on in the 1990s more safety features were incorporated, such as the driver's side airbag.

If you are browsing through Pontiac classifieds, you may also come across a Grand Prix, which consumers love for its excellent performance and fuel efficiency. The Grand Prix began in 1962 as a luxury car with a V8 engine, and an aesthetically pleasing interior.

In the 1970s the Grand Prix was downsized a bit. In 1973, new safety additions such as bumpers made it a heavier car. In the 1980s, the Grand Prix became available in both coupe and sedan, and in 1988 front wheel drive was offered.

During the 1990s the Grand Prix went with a slightly less sporty look, but consumers still adored this car for its practicality. The coupe style was dropped in 2004, and two trim options were made available: the base and the GXP. The base came equipped with a V6 engine with 200 horsepower, Onstar, a CD player, cruiser control, and more. The GXP had a V8 engine with 303 horsepower, a better suspension, and a styling trim.

Other Pontiac cars for sale you may find are the Aztec, the Phoenix, the Sunfire, or the Montana. Regardless of the type of Pontiac car you are looking to purchase, you are likely to find exactly what you are looking for here at Want Ad Digest. Do not forget that if you do not find your desired model here in the used classifieds, visit our Dealer Network page of Want Ad Digest where you can search for specific dealerships, such as DePaula Chevy.
