Pet Accessories
It probably goes without saying that if you own a pet, or are about to become a pet owner, you will undoubtedly need some accessories to go along with your new addition to the family. When we say "pet accessories" we mean items in addition to the essential food and water. Here, we'll go over some pet accessories that you can often find in our classified ads here at Want Ad Digest, where we have been in business for over 50 years.
Let us take a look at fish first, as aquariums are probably the most common pet accessory found here. Aquariums, fish tanks, and fish bowls can run pretty pricey, which is one of many reasons why buying used through our reputable sellers is a great idea - get that item you need for less. With something like an aquarium, it is easy to check the accessory out in person to ensure everything is copasetic before you make that transaction final. To be sure there are no leaks in the tank, you can ask the seller to fill it up with water for you.
When it comes to fish, you can also find gravel, filters, lights, and more in our Pet Accessories section of Want Ad Digest. What kind of fish (or other animals, such as snails) you have in your tank will determine what you need. For instance, certain brands of fish may need the temperature moderated while others may not; similarly, some may require a filtration system while others may not.
Dogs and cats are of course the main animals that come to mind when we think of pets, and they obviously need all the basics in addition to food and water: shelter, leashes, collars, play toys, traveling crates for vet visits, etc. Again, the type of pet accessories you need depends on your specific pet and their requirements.
If you own an indoor cat, you probably will not need a leash, collar, and so forth. If you own a dog, you may need these things and more - consider an invisible fence system, a dog house to protect him or her from the elements while outside, etc. Items such as play toys may not seem like an overly important investment, but playtime for cats, and especially dogs, can be nearly as vital as food, water, and shelter.
If you do own an indoor cat, and therefore do not have a use for a leash and similar pet accessories, consider getting a climbing tower for your cat. Many cats are "tree dwellers," meaning that they need to get up high so that they can see everything around them and feel as though they are reigning over their kingdom. A proper climbing tower can do wonders for your cat's peace of mind - they can be king of the hill, they can look out the window, and they can scratch the scratching post instead of your furniture.
As always with purchasing items used through classified ads, do ask the sellers as many questions as possible to ensure you will be happy with this transaction. Don't be afraid to ask for their advice on how to use the item, what they used the item for, and why they are selling it now. Most of the time when people sell items such as pet accessories it is not because there is anything wrong with the items, but rather, they are probably simply upgrading, trying to make some pocket money or, heaven forbid, their beloved pet has passed on and they need these items out of their home.
