Saab Classifieds
The Saab factory was built in Sweden in 1938 as an aircraft manufacturer, and began producing automobiles instead in the late 1940s. Saab automobiles were intended to be small, affordable, and somewhat luxurious cars. In 1990, GM bought half of Saab Automobile, and by the 2000s had purchased the other half as well. Here, we are going to investigate models of cars that you may find when browsing Want Ad Digest's Saab classifieds.
First, the Saab 9-3. The 9-3 came out in 1999 and is considered to be one of the last "true Saabs" as GM took over the company shortly thereafter. These cars consist of a roomy interior, proven safety features, and are fun to drive. All 9-3s have a 2.0 liter turbocharged cylinder engine with 210 horsepower, and they are offered in multiple body styles: sedan, two door convertible, and four door wagon (also called SportCombi). The convertible came out in 2004. Each body style is further broken down into 2.0T and Aero trim levels.
Another popular model often found in Saab classifieds is the Saab 9-5, also constructed in 1999. This Saab car is considered a luxury, partially because of its incredibly comfortable seats. Cars in general are typically redesigned every five or six years or so, but the Saab 9-5'design lasted the car 11 years - it wasn't redesigned again until 2010. As of the 2000s, the Saab 9-5 became available in three different models: Linear, Arc, and Aero.
The Linear Saab 9-5 has cast alloy wheels and a smoother ride than the other two models because of its quieter engine choice. The Aero 9-5 has a 2.3 engine, leather seats, and a sports leather steering wheel, complete with ventilated hand grips. The Aero model is ideal for serious drivers who are looking for a more intimate driving experience. The Arc is the most uncommon of the three 9-5s, and was intended to be the most luxurious, but the Aero more or less took that title.
Thirdly, we also have the Saab 900, often listed in Saab classifieds. This model Saab was introduced in 1978, with many advancements being made over the years. In 1980, double rear light clusters were added. In 1981, a four dour sedan replaced the five door hatchback; also that year a new engine came about featuring a water pump operated by the belt, as well as upgraded exterior mirrors. In 1983, the front parking lights were upgraded in addition to the front and rear bumpers being widened. The grille was redesigned in 1984, a new valve turbo engine was introduced in 1985, the 900 Turbo convertible was added to the line in 1986, and so on. Over the years a new brake system, airbags, and other safety features were also added to maximize protection.
When browsing used or new cars for sale, do not forget to check out the Saab classifieds as well. These impressive cars have an aerodynamics feel to them, which is indicative of the company's originally manufacturing aircraft before moving onto automobiles.
